Michelle Obama has a new hairdo!

Michelle Obama is sporting a new hairstyle. The new hairdo isn’t as elegant like what happened in July last year. However, the First lady surely has a new haircut which looks like an above-the-shoulder bob.

She was seen with a shorter, above-the-shoulder bob when she accompanied U.S. President Barack Obama to Wilmington, Del., to attend the funeral of Vice-President Joe Biden’s 92-year-old mother, Jean.

The latest hairstyle of Michelle Obama is creating quite a buzz–it’s a sleek, full-bodied and blunt-cut bob which might remind you of the 1920’s actress Louise Brooks. This happens to be her first hairstyle of 2010 and sources say that this is the first time she has publicly appeared with her hair down in more than two months.

The first lady had allowed her hair to grow longer last year. Since November, she wore it mostly in an updo, tucked under or pulled into a tight bun. Second week of 2010 saw a new Michelle Obama hairstyle in which she cut off at least five centimeters of her dark locks with professional hair shears.

Michelle Obama’s new hairdo could possibly mean a serious return of the bob. Her blunt-cut bob is a strange choice of hairstyle since it is not so popular these days. A few celebrities who are seen sporting a bob are Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes, Eva Longoria and Gwyneth Paltrow.

I think the new Michelle Obama hairdo has got connection with two special occasions for the Obama’s. The first lady turned 46 on Sunday, and next Wednesday marks the couple’s first year as President and first lady of the United States.

Britney Spears Goes Brunette Again!

Britney Spears has given her fans a gift for the New Year. She has changed her hair color back to Brunette. Brit had been showing off her trademark blonde locks for months until she got a new darker hair color.

The “Womanizer” singer was spotted with new hairdo at the posh Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood. Britney Spears’s hairstyles have always made a transition from time to time.  The 28 year old singer had first showcased the dark color back in the summer but soon switched back to her natural blonde.

Brit tried to sneak into the hotel unnoticed, but unfortunately even with her new hairdo she was easily recognized. After all Britney Spears is popular for her celebrity hairstyles and one can recognize her in any style that she sports.

It’s interesting to note that Britney Spears has traded her flaxen tresses for a raven color during the end of the year. I hope she allowed her stylist to work on her hair with hair shears and color. Do you remember how she had gone crazy in 2007 when she headed to a salon and asked a stylist cut off all her hair? When the stylist refused, Brit grabbed the clippers and did it herself.

Britney Spears hair always makes headlines. She is one celebrity who never fears to try on different celebrity hairstyles. This star has notoriously sported everything from her signature baby blonde to a completely bald look.

Britney Spears is currently spending her time in conservator-ship, meaning she will remain under the watchful eye of her father. This is the reason why Brit changed her hair color since Brunette has always symbolized independence for this pop star.

We’ll see how long Brit remains Brunette as her summer hairdo was short-lived.

Don’t be surprised by the title of this post. Its indeed true that continuing cosmetology education can make you super rich, according to a study. And whats more interesting is that cosmetology industry is going to offer enormous employment opportunities in near future.

Farouk Shami to spend $20 million t...

Farouk Shami has officially launched his candidacy for the post of governor for the state of Texas with a promise to continue bringing jobs. We had reported earlier that Hair care magnate – Farouk Shami was planning to file Democratic nomination for governor.

Farouk Shami was a poor immigrant in his initial days in the United States. He went on to achieve the American dream by earning a fortune through hard work. He’s a successful businessman who wants to stimulate the economy by creating tens of thousands of jobs in the solar energy business in Texas. Therefore, he chose to run for the Democratic Party which includes businessman Tom Schieffer and schoolteacher Felix Alvarado of Fort Worth, Tyler-area rancher Hank Gilbert and Kinky Friedman, a satirist from Austin.

It will be interesting to see how he can get the confidence of people. It will surely be a tough sell for the naturalized U.S. citizen from the West Bank who comes from Muslim and Catholic religions. Farouk Shami has deliberately pressed the weak nerve of people as a way to achieve more followers. He knows the economy is bad, jobs are reduced, unemployment has risen to high numbers, and here is one man who promises to bring enormous jobs to Texas.

Shami, who made a fortune through hair-care products like colors, hair dyes, hair shears, etc. said he will put $10 million of his own money into his campaign and raise another $10 million. He also outlined his policy points for the crowd during his formal announcement at his Chi USA headquarters in Houston. The policy points include:

  • More spending on education and less emphasis on standardized testing.
  • A pledge to take a gubernatorial salary of $1 a year.
  • Support for lowering tariffs and establishing manufacturing jobs on both sides of the Texas-Mexico border.
  • A proclamation that Texas should be an exporter of food.

Rick Perry himself acknowledged Farouk Shami’s story as that of the American dream. Though, 66 year old Farouk Shami sounds ambitious with his plans for the development of Texas, but will he be able to overcome ethnic prejudices among voters?

Hair shears eliminated Shay Sorrell...

Shay Sorrells was eliminated from “The Biggest Loser” on Tuesday night after nine weeks on NBC’s weight-loss reality show. This 29 year old from Newport Beach, CA was a member of the Orange team and she had to say good bye to her friends after losing over 100 pounds.

I heard someone say that hair shears were responsible for the elimination of Shay Sorrells. Now, how ridiculous a statement can that be? How can hair scissors be held responsible for someone’s elimination from a weight loss reality show?

Hair shears are professional hairstyling tools that help in hair cutting. There are various types of shears like Thinning Shears, Yoko Shears, Toshiba Shears, Kasho Shears, etc. All of them have different application but they help in achieving a well groomed hairstyle.

So how can hair scissors be responsible for eliminating Shay Sorrells?

It was rumored that Shauntina ‘Shay’ Sorrells was so attracted to her new hairstyle that she lost her focus and that led to her elimination. There are rumors that her stylists at The Biggest Loser used special hair shears to give her a well groomed hairstyle so that she can take up the challenges of this weight loss reality show. In this process, Shay was so attracted to her new style that she used to spend too much time in admiring it than working on her weight.

It has to be noted that Shay Sorrells was the heaviest player in the show’s history. She weighed 476 pounds during the start of this weight loss reality show. It’s sad that she was eliminated after losing about 100 pounds.

But, you know what? I still can’t figure out how hair shears were responsible for Shay’s elimination. Do you think these rumors are true?
