Nicole Richie’s Makeover Madness!

Nicole Richie has finally adopted her signature look – short and light locks. She is currently sporting blonde hair after ditching her previous dark brunette look.

The Simple Life star shared her new look with her fans by tweeting this news. It seems a growing trend amongst the red carpet stars to share their celebrity hairstyles via social networking sites.

Nicole Richie had died her hair locks brown and was sporting that style since the last eight months. Finally, she decided to go back to her signature short and light locks.

Nicole Richie’s haircut is done by Andy Lecompte, one of Los Angeles’ most famed hairstylists. While Andy cut Nicole’s hair with professional hair shears, the awesome hair color transition was possible due to George Papanikolas.

After getting a new celebrity hairstyle, Nicole played Clueless with Andy and George. She blogged about this through a blog post titled “Makeover Madness!”

Nicole Richie’s new haircut suits her very well. The side swept bangs and wavy layers make her adorable.

You meet her at a shop and fail to recognize her, even though she has been you neighbor for the last so many years. Have you gone through such a situation? I bet, you have. Your inability to recognize your neighbor can be attributed to the change in her hairstyle.

Did you know that women try about 104 different hairstyles during their lifetime. The number is seriously huge but these statistics were revealed by a research commissioned by British hairstylist Andrew Collinge. Women in the the ages of 13 and 65, will make some type of change to their hair – whether it’s layering, colouring or cutting. Also, they do so very often.

The survey results reveal that maximum women change their hairstyles because they are simply bored with their current look. While some women admitted that a special occasion provides them a perfect opportunity to try out a new look, others visit their salons to conceal grey hairs.

Looks matter! This holds true in every sense and in case of women, it makes them more confident and happy. Andrew Collinge says: “With our modern, everyday stresses and hectic lifestyles, often a restyle or a new colour is an effective and easy way to boost a woman’s confidence.”

Tips for a successful photo shoot

Photo shoots are very important for hairstylists who want to take their career to the next level. So if you aspire to become a sought-after stylist in the beauty biz, you need proper preparation to perfect your photo shoots.

Organizing a successful photo shoot requires a clear vision. So always start with what you want to achieve by photographing your work. Its always a good idea to prepare a thorough plan before booking your photographer and models.

Prominent fashion photographer Babak, who has worked with many Contessa Award entrants was featured on ScissorBoy’s online cosmetology program. He along with Mickey Svircevic explained the process of how to photograph hair.

Mickey and Babak took us behind the scenes at a photo shoot and gave us some pointers on how to photograph your work! As a hairstylist, you need to make sure that you explain your objectives to your team. You can keep your storyboard in close proximity to keep everyone on track.

Another prominent stylist to be featured on ScissorBoy TV was Anna Pacitto. Anna is the Artistic Director for L’Oreal Professional Canada and she successfully manages Salon Pure in Montreal, Canada.
